Why Did We Come To Broome?
“After taking a moment to consider this question, which was recently asked of me, I believe it was a combination of a lot of things… but ultimately it boils down to the fact that Broome is the Pearl capital of the world or at least Australia."
With Jill being a Sassy Pearl Expert, when an opportunity arose in Broome to open a business, which involved pearls and jewellery we decided to take it, and haven’t regretted it!

Love is in the air. Jill Nash and Peter Hansen married.
Both from professional backgrounds, there was now 2 diverse sets of skills to work together with Nash Pearls and Lust Pearls and now Anastasia’s of Broome.
Lust Pearls was invited to exhibit in LA, within the Good Day LA Expo Promoting Australian Businesses. A number of outcomes were a result which was to have our jewellery worn at the Oscars.
Lust Pearls was seen, and invited to be worn at the Oscars 2008, that was really exciting with the Lust Duchess Pendant worn as a featured piece by the Giamarco’s.
LustTM Pearls was my next venture. This exquisite and unique retail jewellery range was commenced. For sometime it had been my wish to combine the two most precious and desirable gems; embellishing pearls with diamonds. My desire was the creation of jewellery and accessories with a perfect balance of a creative design, using quality gems, metals and manufacture
I was a woman in a man’s world in my early days in business. Not always easy. Though my knowledge of the pearling industry was well rounded, my experience of the jewellery industry needed to widen.
1995 flying into the remote island of Manihiki, Cook Islands
From the Islands – Nash Pearls was born.
From this my wholesale business Nash Pearls was born to supply to the Australian jewellery market. I later expanded to include white South Sea Pearls, supplying both Australian and International markets.
Returning to Australia in 1993 after spending some years abroad I was ready to take on a fresh challenge. I was invited by a Japanese Pearl Technician to accompany him to the Cook Islands in the Pacific Ocean, there to be instructed in the art and practice of seeding pearls, and also to learn the skills of the harvesting and grading. I was very happy to accept what was a privileged offer to be brought into this industry.
My training was to be on the remote Cook Islands of Manihiki and Penrhyn, islands where the beautiful blue water lagoons were the ideal waters for pearl farming. Close to the equator the weather was hot and humid, and fresh water was a precious commodity.
